I remember walking into the theater with my dad back in 1989 to see the Michael Keaton Batman. The excitement was palpable, and the delivery did not disappoint. Over the years, there have been good renditions (Christian Bale) and BAD renditions (George Clooney and his Bat Nipples). This time around, we get a darker Bat. Year 2 Batman, where he is just hitting his stride, and in full detective mode. We get to see a demented Riddler instead of a living cartoon (stares at Jim Carrey) and a full-out gangster Penguin.
This Batman is violent, unforgiving, and brooding, and I am here for it. I am super pumped to see this in the theater this weekend. Maybe I might bring the boy so he can have that memory of a Batman reimagined.
